I have recently spent a week on the North Island of New Zealand, and during one of the days we were in and around Rotorua. Rotorua is, although slightly smelly, a beautiful destination where I actually experienced some of my favourite parts of our whole holiday! I say smelly because Rotorua is actually in a spot of intense geothermal activity, which can sometimes create a rather stinky effect when the gases are released from the earth. The smell is created by hydrogen sulphide emissions, giving the town the nicknames “Sulphur City” and, apparently, “Rotten-rua”, which is a personal favourite of mine. However, the geothermal activity also means that there are several natural warm springs in which you can take a beautiful warm swim. Continue reading •A Day in Rotorua•
I am finally back and blogging after my New Zealand holiday. I had a fantastic adventure and I am so grateful for that. One of the first places we went on our trip was beautiful, vibrant commerce and thrill-seeker centre Queenstown. I quite liked the vibe of Queenstown, as the weather was beautifully cool whilst we were there, and the whole town was set against a mountainous backdrop. It is definitely a place for backpackers, and whilst there I must admit I didn’t get served by a single Kiwi whilst I was there! Mr Czech and I stayed there overnight, and we woke up to a gorgeous view in the morning. Without further adieu, here is my recommended list of things to do in Queenstown! As some of you may know, I am headed to New Zealand this week, which I am super excited about! I am trying to get everything organised and make sure that I am all ready for this fantastic adventure. We are going to be touring around the South and North Island over a two-week period and seeing a lot in a limited amount of time. I am expecting a lot of hiking, sightseeing, beautiful nature and fun times.
I have travelled enough now to know what I would need to bring as my carry-on baggage. I have a little set of things that I like to have on hand when I am on the plane, and I thought I would share them with you! Continue reading •What’s in my travel bag•
Grab a nice cuppa tea and have a little sit down because I am bringing to you the first installation of a continuous posting theme: Life Updates! This will just be a little run-down of interesting projects I’ve been up to or exciting things I have coming up.
There are so many gorgeous hidden places to go hiking within Adelaide and its surrounds. One of these places is Brownhill Creek. Just a 15-20 minute drive from the CBD, it is a great place to go for a day trip. I took several photos of the beautiful natural scenes whilst I was there which I’ll share with you in this post!
